I see every little kid smiling in the classroom, except one. That little girl is staring, and watching everyone else, while she is there alone. I go up to her and ask, “What is wrong? Why are you not laughing and playing like every little kid should?” she responded, “Mommy does not let me have fun, she hits me if I want to play”. No child should ever go through this, and should know they will always be protected, this is why I want to become a social worker. To meet these kids and reassure them that not everyone is the same, and that so long as I am around and able to help they will never be alone.
This will change the future of how kids interact with each other whether it be at school, the playground, at home or even the ice cream shop. I want to be there for kids who never had anyone else around, and make them believe that they are worth something to the world. I love working with kids, and have been working with them for the past three years, I enjoy it more and more with each passing year.
