The Importance of Words
If I could earn a living doing what I love, I would be a writer. I would write books of fiction and poetry that would touch the souls of humans and inspire them to be decent and kind people. I would write about the earth and our important connection to it, reminding those who read my words that we all must take a stand in protecting what is left.
I would begin my writing career by dedicating some time each day to the craft, letting my creativity blossom and come alive. I already take the act of writing seriously, as I spend great time and effort looking for the perfect word and sentence structure that allows my thoughts to be understood. Another goal I would set for myself besides writing daily would be to submit my essays, novel, poems to various publishers; persevering until I was granted entry into the published world.
It may not seem like writing could change the world, but I believe it can. I fear a future where books are obsolete and computers are the only place where we can go to find words. I would take a stand against this in my career as a writer. To me, it is of dire importance that books with pages and spines and ink and pictures remain in our world. I think, all authors have a responsibility to ensure we do not lose this precious resource. My intention is thus.
