I would love to be a wildlife rehabilitator and help during times of environmental crisis. I want to help stabilize populations of various animals so they are no longer endangered and create a safe environment for them. All animals are an important part of our global ecosystem, without them, the natural stability and balance will be lost. While it may not seem like a pressing issue in our everyday lives, the long term effects are very impactful. For example, the elimination of a predatory species will allow an exponential growth of another and the balance will be lost. Without predators, other species will take over the land which can cause extreme environmental changes because the natural resources are being used more frequently. There is a natural order to stabilize population sizes so that the animals are not harmful to the environment, however a man-made imbalance will create change that is harder to correct. I plan to attend a veterinary school one day and hopefully use this education to allow me to make an impact on our wildlife. With such a degree, I can help on a wildlife reserve or even start my own cause to improve the lives of endangered species. I believe that it is vital that we take a closer, open-minded, look at our planet and attempt to fix the environmental problems so that we can sustain life. And because of this belief, I hope that my education and future career can help make this happen.
