I have always been excited for math class. Manipulating numbers to unveil a simple, straight-forward answer is just plain cool. My love for mathematics began in a simple algebra class, and years of increasingly complex equations and more abstract theorems have only made that love grow. Math is a direct subject, providing direct solutions for direct questions. However, many aspects of this world are not direct, and as a result the human population often finds themselves t conflict. The people who resolve these conflict are our soldiers: brave individuals who give everything they have for everyone else. While these people are out protecting our country, I want to do what I can to help them and those they love at home. I plan on working as either a financial advisor or specialty math teacher for families with members serving in the navy.
Of course, before I can help other people straighten out mathematical conundrums, I have to learn how to handle them myself. That requires college. Between other scholarships, savings, and work study however, I find myself straining to meet the price tag of higher-level education. As a result, I am grateful for any level of monetary support I can receive. Being able to afford college means greater success in college; when I do not have to spend time towards working and budgeting, I can focus on education. Between classes, studying, homework, and tests, college needs a lot of effort, and the only way a college experience is effective is if all the necessary effort is put in. Thus, scholarships help me, not only financially, but academically as well. A scholarship can also be helpful post-schooling too; the majority of students, often rely on student loans to cover tuition. Financial aid lessens the need for these loans, and allows the student to focus on their career instead of paying off debts. I want to help people after I graduate, but before I can do that I have to help myself. Thus, I am putting forth my best effort to reduce the financial impact of college, so I can give back and achieve my goals.
