The way in which I want to change the world with what I love is inspired by a quote from the book Eleanor & Park—“She looked like art, and art wasn’t supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something.” I am an art major and art has always been a huge part of my life. What many people do not realize about art is that the majority of the time its purpose is to cause the viewer to feel a certain way, even if that feeling is unexplainable, and thats what I want to do with art—incite passionate feelings in people. I want to create art that can change the way someone is feeling. I want to create art that when someone looks at it, listens to it, watches it, wears it, or experiences it, it can change their mood or perspective. I strongly believe that life is about love and happiness and anything that encompasses for each individual, and if I could make art that allows people to feel happiness or even love I would consider that world changing, even if it is just one persons world at a time. Happiness can change someones whole life, and a painting, song, movie, outfit, or any form of art can get them there.
