When I was ten years old, riding in the car with my mom one warm, summer morning I suddenly announced, “I’m going to be an interior designer.” Eight years later and I still feel the same. Interior design is my passion and what makes me truly happy. I enjoy the combination of both creative and logistical aspects of interior design. I love the challenge of creating a space that is not only visually pleasing, but that is also practical and efficient. With this career comes the great responsibility of environmental sustainability. I have the potential to change the world for the better by designing spaces that are sustainable and environmentally friendly, and that is incredibly exciting to me! This dream of becoming an interior designer is one that I am closer to achieving than I ever could have hoped. My dream is beginning to become a reality as I go to university to study interior design in the fall. My personal goal for my time at university is to take charge of my future by being involved and curious and constantly working to my goal. I have set the goal that I will ask lots of questions in my classes instead of being embarrassed to ask. I will work to become a more active participant in my classes, because it is my future and one day, I want to be able to look back and be proud of what I did to accomplish my dreams of becoming an interior designer.
