If I had a penny for every time someone told me I could not afford to be a film director, I would be able to afford it by now. But becoming a filmmaker to me is not a matter of liking movies, it is a matter of building bridges across minds, it is depicting the story of you and me and ensuring that everyone else knows that there is diversity but there is also a common link among all of us. I strongly believe that film is the most powerful art medium since it combines every other art form and connects with people by mass media marketing in the most intelligent manner. I want to make the films that allows others to experience the cathartic release that films have offer me to experience and be able to transcend race, sex, social background, or any other factor that we believe today that differentiates us beyond a possible connection. But most importantly, I want to be able to wake up and know that I am going to work doing what I love and I am able to pay for my parents and my own living expenses so that we may be able to breathe for once in our lives.
