When I was younger I saw an Army commercial and the phrase “Army Strong” came across the screen. It seemed to stick out to me and to this day I feel that the toughest and strongest people are members of the United Stated military. These are the people that we depend upon to protect our homes, our children, our jobs, and our comfortable way of living. They do all of this for us, yet once they leave the military and want to transition back into civilian life, what is it that we offer them? With this question posed, if I could earn a living doing what I love most, it would be running a chain of centers know as the Soldier Sanctuary that are built not only to help veterans transition back into civilian life, but to set them up with the proper jobs, education opportunities, and health care that they deserve. I constantly see military men and women working low end jobs to support their families. We owe them more than that. Because of them we do not have to experience what many other less fortunate countries go though as far as attacks, famine, and other negative occurrences. I would like my centers to be able to address veteran issues such as education deficits, social anxiety, substance abuse, financial literacy, and other problems that we do not think about every day. If they can help us, then why can we not help them?
