Smiling Faces

I would love to earn a living improving the lives of children/adults, both able and/or disable. I have volunteered in nursing homes, daycare centers, and after school programs. I have seen the sad faces of loneliness and abuse. I have decided to return to school after thirty-something years to complete my education in sociology. I would like to build from the ground up a facility that would give fundamental and educational programs for every age. The children would have a place to go after-school, summer breaks, and weekends. The adults and senior citizens would be able to have a place for down time and, daycare services, where they would continue to gain knowledge and thrive.

I moved from a large city (Philadelphia) after forty years of age to the Delta. I have never seen such sadness in the faces of children with nowhere to go, nor nothing to do during the summer months. I have meant children who never saw a beach or been outside of their communities. I have tutored children that were years behind in their studies, struggling to learn and do better.

I have witnessed senior citizens in dim light, run down nursing homes all alone. There are many young adults, who would benefit from a facility that would offer after hour classes in computer training, counseling, exercise, cooking healthy, and family orientated programs. Hopefully, I will be able to find funding for this much needed facility.
