When my grandmother taught me to sew, she did so not only to teach me the art of creating clothing, she taught me the importance of self-presentation. I have always loved designing and creating pieces for myself and my family to wear, and if I were able to do this for a living, my goal would simply to make the world remember a time when we took pride in our appearances. We have become a society that goes out into public wearing pajamas and all too revealing clothing. My dream is to bring us into a time of fashion, style, and personal pride. This does not mean that we have to go back to past styles or wear frumpy clothing. Our fashion can evolve in a way that individual style is accentuated while pride in appearance is given a great importance in society once again.
