What I would love to do most with my life is to rebuild and revitalize communities that have been affected by poverty, war, disease, and natural disaster. Since I was a little girl, I would be engrossed in articles detailing the unimaginable struggles people face every day in some areas of the world. It has always been my dream to make sustainable change to end this suffering and make the world a better place.
This is not just a faraway wish for me. In fact, knowing that there is very little money in this field of work, I have decided to make my dream a reality by studying International Development and Public Health in college! I hope to gain experience as an intern for global aid organizations and a Peace Corps volunteer. Who knows what other opportunities will be available for me in the further future? (United Nations is my dream workplace!)
I will change the world by not only curing people of homelessness and sickness, but also by being a friend who provides hope and trust to marginalized individuals. It does not take much to get the work done, but it takes something special to truly show you care and spread love to those you help. If I can make a difference in even one life, it will all be worth it! If it turns out to make a little more money than expected, that is just an added bonus.
