As a writer, there is nothing more exilerating than pacing around and thinking up stories, all the while hoping that no one is around as I act out dialogue. Be it films, televison, or a myriad of comic book ideas, a living made from creative writing is one that excites me to no end. My goal is to open as many doors as possible in college through networking to be able to secure writing opportunities for television, all the while writing articles for websites geared towards this and other mediums. Eventually, I would like to launch my own comic book, with my best friend as the artist, putting my name in the comic book industry and saving up money to eventually launch my own animated series. This would be done through merchandising deals for the comic book, such as toys, video games, and an animated series of its own. Through my writing, I would also like to teach, educate, and comment on the world of today, without being too restrictive, didactic, or sanctimonious. By doing so, I would teach and entertain, making viewers think, laugh, cry, and enjoy the whole ride. As an African American, I would also be interested in starting a second Harlem Renaissance, a sort of “Black Renaissance”, with a rejuvenated interest in creating our own art, writing, literature, film, and entertainment. In all, I hope to achieve much with the life given to me, and in the process change the lives of others.
