If I could earn a living doing what I love I would write and illustrate comics. I believe I could help make the world a better place with my comics because I would include progressive themes and ideas. Comics already reach a wide range of ages making them an excellent platform to broadcast progressive themes and push past old ways of thinking. I would include lots of diversity in my characters as well through a range of ethnicities, religions, body types and sexual orientations because I think it’s important to represent everyone and make everyone feel included.
To make this dream a reality I have enrolled in Laguna College of Art and Design in order to further and widen my skill set. I am very passionate about art but I still have a lot to learn. I have registered for classes such as figure drawing, fundamentals of drawing and digital painting to improve my work. The art is the first impression you get of a comic and if you want someone to pick it up let alone buy it the art has to be good and it has to stand out that is why I am going to college to get to this level. However art isn’t the only thing that brings people back for more when it comes to comics that is why I am also taking english so I can improve my story telling skills. A good story keeps readers interested making it essential for a successful comic.
