As humans, we are attracted to what we find to be beautiful. I find people as beautiful as I do infuriating. I find beauty in the world and all of her wounds. How we stitch them up, with smiles and laughter, or how we can let others sink into them and just walk away. If I could get paid for what I love to do it would be my photography.
The best pictures are the ones that you never see coming. The pictures where no one is paying attention to me and everyone is laughing because there is so much love to be shared. But even more so the pictures that display huge problems like when the two girls in their twenties sleep by the bus stop on 26th street under the streetlight that is almost blinding compared to the darkness. They say that a picture can paint a thousand words and believe this is true because we, as a society, are really bad at talking about the big problems.
I want my photographs to start conversations. I want them to be so true that people can feel their love or warmth or even their sadness. I want them to go viral, I want my sets to inspire someone to start an idea to change what they hate in either themselves or the world. I believe there is something magic about the power of ideas and also of what even the smallest person can accomplish in such a vast universe.
