I always knew that I would obtain a career involving animals, and I can only imagine myself as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), where I will be able to enjoy what I do for the remainder of my life. I am already starting my main goal of gaining the knowledge and experience necessary for a Veterinary Medicine program; I have been shadowing a few Veterinarians over the past two years, and have found employment within an animal hospital as a Hospital Assistant. An additional goal of mine is to participate in Veterinary related internships prior to applying for the program, therefore strengthening my chances of acceptance. The last important goal that I have for myself would be to finish my undergraduate studies with the highest GPA possible. With these three goals set in mind, nothing will stop me from having my dream job as a DVM.
Like my family, my pets are the most important and favorite part of my life. One of my cats has recently been diagnosed with Diabetes. It has been an eye opening experience for me knowing that without my help, my cat’s life could end due to her disease. Animals cannot treat their own illnesses, so I am stepping up for their benefit. Every animal deserves to live their life happily and to the fullest, and being a DVM will give me the opportunity to help them do just that and feel significant in doing so, changing the world one pet at a time.
