If I could earn a living do what I love, I would do exactly what I am already planning to do. I’m planning to work in lower city/low income school districts in the position of a Special Needs teacher. I’m hoping not to all at once change the world, but help take little steps by changing the world, one kid at a time. I want to promote awareness and coexistence in the school. I believe that by doing so, people would get over their fears of the unknown, and be open to new experiences with new people. I hope to go into a school and become a consistent person in the lives of my students, and I say this because some Special Needs students don’t have a person who is there for them and willing to do everything to help them. But I will be there to help, always. I want to start a peer tutoring program, where the General Education students have the opportunity to help out in the SPED class as an equal, as a peer. By doing this in one lower city school, I’m hoping that other schools in the district will see the change it has made in the atmosphere of the school, and follow suit. Everyone deserves to be treated equally and like a normal person. By banding the students together, I believe that will make a huge difference in society.
