Hi, my name is Chasity. If I could earn a living doing what I love most, it would be without a doubt Nursing. I am majoring in what I would say is one of the greatest fields to work in. I am a firm believer, that if you love what you, you’ll never “work” a day in your life. As a child growing up, I always felt the need and will to help others in times of need and sickness. I remember helping my mom care for my Great Aunt, when she was dying of severe diabetes. It wasn’t about just caring for her physical needs. Just being there sometimes, to hold her hand and let her know that she wasn’t alone made a big difference. Now that my Grandmother has Dementia, she may forget some things, but she remembers what time I will be there to watch our television shows together. My opinion is a happy person recovers faster than someone who’s depressed. I believe that people live longer and feel better around positive people. Doing what I love, would be showing someone who doesn’t believe there are still great people in the world, that some still do exist. A Nurse can’t always take the pain away but she/he can be there to ease it by showing that they care. I enjoy the feeling of knowing that someone got well or passed away peacefully because of me. I love everything about Nursing and earning a living helping others, to me, is truly living the American dream.
