I remember the look in his eyes and the way he nodded his head while he held a blunt on his beaten hands. He was listening to the most disturbing words I had ever heard and they were coming from an old device that used to be used for listening to beautiful music. My brother was only sixteen years old and here he was in front of me, his nine year old little sister, singing about guns, sex and drugs, and I couldn’t understand why, Why was he doing this? What changed him? Why would he hurt his own family? Well, after years of living on this earth I came to realize that music has a huge influence on our character. Just like how people say that ” you are what you eat”, we also become what we are constantly listening too. Now a days, all we ever hear are songs that are influencing people to do horrible things like, drugs, have sex with random people, drop out of school, kill, rape, disrespect and steal. Well, if I could I would change that. Ever since I was little I prayed to God to give me the wisdom and talent to do so, to change the world for the better. The only way I would be able to do that is through music. I want to write songs that inspire, that make people smile from their soul. I want to write songs about love, because this world, our world, needs love.
