What I love most are the beauty of the natural world and helping people realize their potential. I’ve spent years figuring out how to unite them. To earn a living doing what I love most, I will establish a destination for people to escape everyday life and be immersed in nature and personal growth.
Technology and media monopolize more of our time each year, so I envision a forest getaway where these distractions can be stripped away in favor of connections. Guests will develop interpersonal relationships and feel the satisfaction of DOING something – rather than watching a show, reading about, or playing a video game version of it.
Deep in the woods, modern treehouse accommodations will be connected by sky bridges. Zip lines, hiking trails, obstacle courses, yoga, and workshops will be available; bringing structure to the experience while teaching new skills and hobbies. Sustainable living will be highlighted, and easy ways to bring it home will be shared including opportunities to learn organic food gardening.
The camp will be run as a non-profit, offering free vacation scholarships for low income families and at-risk teens; people that could benefit the most. To support this initiative, paid events will be offered for specific groups like families, couples, singles, and teens.
Showing people they can do things they never thought possible makes the world a happier place. Teaching sustainability in a fun atmosphere makes it accessible, making the world a cleaner place. This is my plan to help change the world.
