If I could earn a living doing what I like most I would run a farm as a Non-Profit organization. This farm would not only affect the homeless families of Florida, but could potentially affect the homeless families of the World. The farm will yield a vegetable crop, orchard’s harvest, chicken eggs, and livestock.
The plan is the first annual will be planted and tended to by myself and a few volunteers. By harvest time we will acquire one family onto a compound, giving them shelter, food, and training in a new profession. They will earn their keep by harvesting, planting, and tending to the farm.
All of our fruits will be divided into thirds: 1/3 will go to feed my family and the family we take on, 1/3 will go to the food and care coalition to feed other homeless, and the last 1/3 will go to market to be sold to keep the Non-Profit running and growing.
My volunteers and I have been looking for acreage to buy that could make this a reality. We were thinking of 40 acres to start so that we may have cattle on the property as well, that way we could churn our own butter, sell organic milk, and have our own manure for the crops. I would love to make this dream a reality to help the people homeless around me and maybe help make the world a brighter place.
