When you were little, have you ever sat there and day dream about your future? Maybe you wanted to be a doctor, a dentist, a vet or an actor. Didn’t all our dreams include luxurious cars, private planes, a mansion and pool as well as parties and caviar for dinner every night at one point? Since the day I learned what my character consists of, such as a love for arguing, defending, and returning to people their innocence, I knew that my dream career was to be a lawyer. Not only is it a career field that I thoroughly enjoy, the excitement and comfort I get when defending an innocent person is more pleasurable than the thought of living in mansions and eating caviar. It is my dream, to be standing in front of a jury and a judge, defending and giving a client the rights they deserve. No matter how careful the decisions are made in court when finding someone guilty, hundreds of people every year are found guilty of charges they aren’t responsible for, and that is something I strive to change. In order to obtain the necessary education and experience, I am going to look into internship opportunities as well as organizations that prepare me for the law field such as Mock trials and Justice Mission offered at Baylor University. Being a lawyer, standing in court, and fighting for what is right, is my own version of living in a utopia.
