“Education is not the filling of a pale, but the lighting of a fire.”
-William Butler Yeats
I’ve always had a thirst for knowledge and a love of learning. One can change the world with a good education. A good education is possible with a good teacher. And a good teacher has the ability to make a positive impact on their students’ lives, helping them to grow and reach their full potential. As a teacher, I would want to accomplish just that while instilling a passion for learning in my students.
Keeping children interested and involved is important to me. One of my goals as a teacher would be to have lesson plans and activities that are fun and engaging. Rather than having children think it’s a chore, I want them to be enthusiastic when it comes to school. I think that by making the educational activities exciting, you can make learning come alive.
I absolutely love children and consider myself young at heart. Children are easy to relate to, as well as being very impressionable. I’ve always been told I should be a teacher. Knowing I would be responsible for a group of young peoples’ education is a big undertaking. But after several experiences teaching, I have grown more and more confident in my ability to be a great teacher. It would be a privilege to help children find a joy for knowledge and learning.
