The field of biology is a wonderful land. It explores vast areas in various subjects to learn more about the body and how the very world around us functions. This field has helped in many ways to launch us into the modern era. Since a young age, I have always been interested in animals in the natural world. Every day, after school, I would plop down on the living room floor, cross-legged, as Steve Irwin wrestled a crocodile on screen. Ever since I have wanted to learn more about the chemistry and biology involved in keeping all life functioning.
Biology has the potential to prevent disease, improve age expectancy, and increase our agility, intelligence, and strength. I wish to contribute to this amazing field and help keep the natural balance in order. I want to examine everything from the camouflaged chameleon, to the giant blue whale. I want to change the way we look at viruses and help end the worry as the fear of Ebola flashes on the news. I just want to learn all that I can from this amazing world in the limited time that I have. The world has so much to teach us, all we have to do though is stop and listen.
