As a college student, I have thought about what I want to do for a living quite a bit. I have decided to pursue a law degree. I know that this would allow me to live comfortably and be able to do things I want to do, like to travel with my family. I think that I will enjoy working as a lawyer, and the paycheck that comes with it is certainly part of what drew me to that career because I have a lot of passions that are not cheap.
If I could make that much money doing anything…I would be a massage therapist. My best friend and boyfriend have both been diagnosed with depression and have told me nothing helps clear their minds before they fall asleep like me giving them a back rub. I became interested in learning massage techniques from my Oma who worked as a nurse her entire life and worked as a massage therapist as a second job. Massage therapy is not only rewarding to the one receiving the massage, but the masseuse gets to see the immediate results of their work. She gave me a book on techniques and my first bottle of massage oil when I was seventeen. I have loved it ever since and gone through bottles and bottles of oil with my friends. It is rewarding to me, and I think if that was my career I wouldn’t feel like I was working.
