Some kids grow up with dreams of becoming a firefighter or actress, mine was always nursing. In a world with endless possibilities, nursing is what I knew I was born to do! I knew nursing was my destiny when my grandpa waited an hour to get assistance to the bathroom and there was noth my family or I could do to help him. He wasn’t the only one who fel helpless that day, my parents and I felt heartbroken knowing we could not help him to do something as simple as taking him to the bathroom. The home he lived in was understaffed and could not answer his light in time. That day I know I needed to become a CNA and start my career path towards becoming a nurse. I have been a CNA for 10 years now and I wouldn’t change my decision. Becoming a CNA has given me so much experience and opened my eyes to what it is like to work in several different facilities; not all of them being as glamorous as many would think. I would change the world by using my experience and set of skills I’ve acquired to help the sick one patient at a time. I currently work at two hospitals (as needed) and plan to continue working both so I can spread my compassion and expertise with all my patients I care for as a future nurse!
