All my life I wanted to be just a mom. I have done that and watched my kids succeed. I have always dreamt of going to school to be a nurse, but I changed my mind after witnessing a family member of mine. My passion and heart is set on being a Social Worker. After watching my cousin get caught up in the drug scene and abandoning her three beautiful girls, I just knew that I needed to get my degree. Like I said in the beginning, I love being a mom and I love kids in general. In order for me to make a difference in the world, I not only need my degree in Social Work, but will continue in volunteer work with children. My dream would be one day to either be a foster parent or to open a clinic to help people overcome their drug problems with kids. The world is becoming such a scary place today with drugs everywhere and kids getting their hands on it. I would also like to go on and get my degree in Criminal Justice. If I got my Criminal Justice degree, I can go on and become a Probation Officer that would also volunteer with youth offender programs. I have heard of programs called Restorative Justice, that allows kids a second chance after they get in trouble with the law. I know with my drive, I can accomplish this.
