In a perfect world, my dreams for earning a living would entail being involved in several different occupations. Fashion is something I am passionate about and have been since I was a small child. I love clothing pieces, shoes, jewelry, and scarves. I enjoy shopping, looking at catalogs and watching models on the runway. To be a small part of the fashion world would be a dream come true.

I also love the health field. While I do not desire to be a nurse or a doctor, I am fascinated by the human body. I was diagnosed with lupus over 10 years ago. At the time, I had no idea what an autoimmune disease was. I did plenty of internet research and read several books. During that time, I became fascinated with all the things that go right and wrong in the human body and how to fix the things that go wrong. I enjoy learning about and participating in anything that focuses on health and wellness. My degree will be in business management so I think it would be great if I can find an excellent career where business intersects with the medical field.

While I don’t see earning a living in doing this, I am very interested in mission trips to other countries to help children in need. This is something I have always wanted to do. I cannot stand the thoughts of hungry children and would love to help in any way that I can.

My immediate goal is to finish this degree and see what doors God opens for me. I know he has a plan and I am hopeful that this degree will open doors beyond my wildest dreams. Helping to feed starving children definitely has an impact on changing the world for the better and I believe anytime we can strive to make the health field better and keep people healthy, that has a positive impact on the world as well. While fashion may not be critical to the betterment of society, it certainly is important to always want to look and feel your best. I do believe dreams can come true if we actively pursue them with our whole heart and take steps to get there. For me, this degree is hopefully my first step.

Thank you for your consideration of this scholarship. I appreciate the opportunity to share my dreams for the future.
