Music has an unlimited reach of meaning and feelings. When words are paired with rhythm and sounds it creates something magical. If you take one hundred people and play them the same song the song will have a different meaning for every person. It will summon a different feeling in their souls and make their hearts feel one hundred different ways. Furthermore, one song may have one hundred different meanings to one person.
Making music is my passion; it is an outlet for my emotions. The combination of lyrics, tone, pitch, rhythm, interpretation, and soul is breathtaking. Music connects all kinds of different people to eachother through experiences. If you ever feel alone listening to music is a reminder that you aren’t the only one feeling that way. If I could do one thing for the rest of my life it would be to sing and make music. I love it so much that I would do it for free forever.
By making music I could change the world by letting people know that they aren’t alone. I could give them hope and inspire them. I currently sing at my church, and I am looking into auditioning for The Voice next year. I plan on singing at open mics as much as I can. I already record covers on SoundCloud and share them via social media. This Scholarship will help me pay for college so I can learn the skills I need to make my dreams come true.
