A major issue with my upbringing was being afraid of not being able to accomplish certain goals due to the issues of money shortages. There were times after my High School education where I chose to study in fields I know would give me a guaranteed job, regardless if I had any interests in the topic or not. After struggling with the reality that what I want to do and what I am doing are opposite of each other, I made a decision that life is too short to not do what my heart desires. If I could earn a living doing what I love most, it would be the exact thing that I am attending school for now. Currently I am a twenty three year old English major student at a community college, and I am going to apply to a University in the next couple of months. My main goal in life is to become a teacher, and to inspire future generations to understand the beauty in reading, writing, and understanding literary analysis.
Since day one money has always been an issue in my life, but I will not let that issue, an issue that many people are going through, get in my way. My dream will become a reality through the power of education and ambition. Before any teaching job, one of my main goals is to volunteer around the world and teach English to children who cannot go to school due to the circumstances of their country. The art of writing and reading should never be deprived to anyone, and I want to make sure to do as much as I can as a teacher to give back.
