Young men and women are the future to our society. Right now, I am in that category. I am at the point in my life that I get to choose which direction that my career path will lead me. I have a choice, go the corporate route and make a lot of money, or be a teacher/coach and do what I love most – work with young men and women.
If I could earn a living doing exactly what I love most, I would be a teacher and I would coach high school baseball.
Baseball has been a part of my life since the day I was born. It’s taught me life lessons that have changed me for the better.
The biggest life lesson is by far accountability. My generation is without that trait though. Most people in the world today know nothing about accountability because their parents have taught them that they were not responsible for their actions.
So if I could earn a living doing that, being a teacher/coach, that’s what I would do. Teach young people about the importance of being held accountable. Teaching them that if you truly take responsibility for your actions all the time, your life will be much richer simply because you aren’t always passing the burden off to someone else. There’s a good feeling to be had when you stand up and say, “that was my mistake, I take full responsibility for that.”
That’s what I’d do.
