Living The Dream
For many years I have had thoughts about what the “perfect world” would be like and how we as responsible, intelligent human beings could bring about changes to create such a world. With such diversity in our great nation it has become difficult to live peacefully together and to accomplish common goals.
We all strive for personal excellence for ourselves, but tend to forget that we need teamwork for the greater good. My curriculum as a Criminal Justice student has helped mold me into the person I am today. I am a person who sets the bar high and at the same time strives to help others reach their goals.
This leads me to the question: What would I do if I could earn a living doing what I love the most? The answer is quite simple: Be a mentor to young people. In today’s confusing, mixed-up world they need plenty of guidance to show them the way. I would accomplish the task with the following specific goals:
•First, obtain the education I need, such as Sociology, psychology, and other related fields
•Volunteer at local schools or with youth organizations, enabling me to work closely with adolescents and teens
•Become a mentor to a young student in need; maybe someone who is studying similar curriculum in school
•Give financial support to local organizations or schools that assist young persons with their on-going educational needs
Can we change the world? Yes we can! One young person at a time.
