I have always wanted to work in the Healthcare field. I really wanted to be a nurse, however I was offered a really good paying union mill job and I took it. At the time it was perfect. I don’t think now I could do all of the schooling and education for nursing, simply because I have a 9 month old and the homework that they have is a lot. I do know I could do the 1 year course to be an MA. I am going to become an Medical Assistant. There is job security in the healthcare field and that’s what I really need. I have always been the one to take care of people in need to the best of my ability and this would be a great opportunity to help people in my community and make a difference in someone’s life. There are so many different places I could work like hospitals, clinics and doctor’s office’s the options are endless. It’s pretty exciting when you think of all the areas and things you can do. I am currently working with Kelly at Pioneer Pacific College to get enrolled and achieve my goal. My husband and I chose to have a child and he was born last Oct. In April my mill that I worked at for 14 yrs closed and in July of this year my husband’s mill burnt down. Needless to say we have had our run of bad luck and that’s fine. He is looking for work and I am trying to get my career going and help our family in the long run. Who knows maybe after I get my MA I mite go on and up in the healthcare field. All I know is I love taking care of people, I need something with a future and I may not be able to change the world but I can help people in it.
