Though previously unacquainted with this melody, this tune has become an integral part of this boy’s closest memories, flooding in an array of emotions. Fear and regret are quelled at the beginning of its aesthetic arrangement, though the ache of a joyful experience brings unexpected nostalgia. As if written directly through his eyes, the lyrics encapsulate every thought not spoken, every emotion unquoted, and though he knows others can relate, personal closure. If I could earn a living doing what I love most, it would be to compose the gift of music and lyrics, specifically hip hop, that can tell a story able to bring hope to any person. Now I know it is a challenge, especially with the modern dimensions of music as an industry and business rather than an art, but dedication to the craft of learning to compose music is a beginning. I plan to work towards these by understanding music theory, learning an instrument per year (piano, drums, guitar, etc.) and continue writing and recording a variety of tracks. I also want to be diligent in making the live performance just as well, if not better, than the listener imagined. Ultimately, my dream is to impart life to the listener, just as I receive when I listen and relate to the different genres of music. The world may see a greater reality from an unlikely source, and my work may couple the person’s vision and passion to work as a daily reminder for its completion.
