Resolute. A word used by my parents to describe me the minute I was born. This word has been an accurate representation of who I am for the past nineteen years because when I set a goal for myself, I do everything in my power to achieve it. With this attitude in mind, I would like to become a civil rights or public interest lawyer. I believe these are very honorable positions and I would love nothing more than to represent my community. It is important to stick up for the rights of others and help those who can’t help themselves. Lawyers can change the world by fighting to make sure society is given equal rights; that everyone is able to vote, discrimination is eliminated, basic human rights are not violated, those with disabilities are taken care of, the environment is protected, and that there is justice in the health system. I want to be able to provide a solution to these issues for others and to do so I plan on working extremely hard. I am currently a second year at Cal Poly SLO majoring in Communications. I am going to study diligently so I can graduate with my Bachelor’s degree and apply for law school. I also plan to participate in internships during my college experience, which will be beneficial towards finding a job after my schooling is finished. I hope that my drive and passion will help me to make a difference in the future.
