The key to change, no matter how closely achievable or far and dramatic the change is, begins with the children. The one thing I can do for the rest of my life and be happy with is teaching underprivileged children. I have been a teacher at Breakthrough Summerbridge for three consecutive summers now, and have loved every single year of supporting the growth and education of these young kids.
What better leaders can there be than leaders that reinforce the correct moral construct driven by their want to help others who may not have economic and social privileges, and their want to better the future for the next coming generations. These students are people that rise above society’s expectations; the ones who exceed their family’s expectations, which move beyond peer influence, and take true advantage of their autonomy and exceed their very own expectations.
Teaching is the most rewarding experience I have ever had, and I plan to continue doing it in the future. Being able to reach these kids and helping them climb the ladder to their truest potential is what I want to do. Once they have realized how far they can really achieve, they can then help their children and future generations to come. Changing the world for the better starts and ends with the children and it is with that change that we can really and long lastingly impact the world for the better.
