Aerospace Engineering. It sounds tough, but for me- there is no other thing I would rather do. To work for any of the organizations promoting space right now: NASA, SpaceX, Virgin, would be a dream come true. Since my physics classes in high school I knew that I wanted to help mankind reach the final frontier. Science took hold of me and now I am trying to devote all of my studies to understanding the applications and theories behind space travel, specifically the hopes of allowing man to one day walk and live on other planets in this or any solar system. I believe that once the human race has extended its reach to other worlds, then many of the problems we face such as disease, hunger, and war could be solved through the study of other worlds. While it may seem like wishful thinking, it truly is not that far off from reality. SpaceX, for example, has intentions of launching spaceships carrying 4 or more people in 2017 that could be reused countless times without shedding any of their parts like the known space shuttle models of the past. If I could finish my engineering coursework at Texas A&M and move on to partner with a company that has goals of enhancing mankind’s future through space travel, I would achieve my lifelong dream of helping make the human race the best it can be.
