My ideal career would be to own my own publishing company. I want to use it as a medium to bring independent writer’s and creator’s ideas to life. Comic books, novels, video games, and short films are all possible media that could and would be explored. It would also work as a meeting place for those individuals to workshop their ideas. They could connect and work with others and develop their concepts further into whatever format they desire. It give unknowns a chance to be seen and heard, and could help the industries grow. We would help edit, print, and produce artists’ projects and in return would take a flat fee off the top off of what they make. Producing regular products would be imperative, so space would be provided for those who could. Things such as comic book writers and artist, and people who could program games and work on films would be employed to stay year round. When writers have an idea they want to work with, it would be reviewed and they would be given the resources needed to see it brought to life. Before all that though I hope to make a name for myself in all the mediums. That is why I think the Creative Writing for Entertainment BFA at Full Sail University is the best choice. It teaches students to write for all of the modern mediums and could better equip me for managing a company that would strive to dabble in each.
