TakeLessons Scholarship Essay

If I could earn a living doing what I loved the most, what would it be, and how would it change the world? Human beings spend their lives creating artifacts to be remembered. I am no different. I am a communicator by nature, allowing me to marry my love for musical arts with healing. I aspire to be a more accomplished performer with composition skills, while simultaneously inspiring people to take this journey on earth as a spiritual pilgrimage. By no means am I speaking of supporting a specific investment in a particular religion. If showing respect and love for mankind and mother earth were a religion without dogma, then bring it on!
I am a junior at Adelphi University with an Associates of General Studies degree from the College of Southern Nevada. I have been performing professionally since the age of 16. I am 45 years old, majoring in Vocal Performance and Music Composition. I would like to encourage our young artists to sing to heal this world. We are socially confused. The confusion is breeding hatred. We must come to a better solution than inner world wars. I live in New York City during 9/11. This was a gift out of a horrific experience. Things became simpler for me. Love and an aspiration for understanding is the only way that we shall survive as a human race. To educate the importance of religious and social tolerance is bedrock. Thank you.
