If I could earn a living doing what I love most I would help take care of people by becoming a registered nurse. My reasons for wanting to become a registered nurse are: 1) I am very kind and caring, I have a huge heart, 2) I am a team player and enjoy working with others, 3) I want to be able to help complete strangers and also my family by taking very good care of them, 4) I can make a difference in a person’s life just by listening to them and allowing them to express their emotions, and 5) I can educate people and their families about health and wellness.
My experience in the hospital after the birth of my son was not a very pleasant one. I will never treat my future patients the way I was treated that day. I felt so vulnerable and needed help with nursing my child properly. The nurses weren’t very helpful and didn’t comfort me at all when I broke down and began crying from frustration. This horrible experience taught me that not every person in the medical field is well trained and that not everybody was meant to be a nurse. It also made me want to become a nurse even more than before because I would be making a difference in a patient’s day by giving them comfort and support that they need. I am going to achieve my goal by completing the ABSN program I am currently enrolled in.
