My dream job is to run my own hookah lounge in San Jose, California. Having a decent, classy, and beautiful hookah lounge would provide my community with a peaceful spot to meet and talk. My lounge would not have loud pop music or sensual movies playing on large screens. Instead, it would have works of art, a patio and balcony for fresh air, and comfortable couches for relaxing. If someone ever wants to meet with friends to talk and think about life, they should not have to choose from a mall, a restaurant, or a muddy park. My lounge may not be the highlight of the San Jose nightlife, but during the day it would be an oasis of peace among the jungle of the city.
It would be so beneficial and healthy for San Jose to have a hookah lounge such as this because it would give residents a chance to intellectually stimulate themselves in conversation and normal human interaction. Downtown San Jose has a few cultural sites, including theaters, the university, and the library, but they do not receive the same height of attention as do the many bars and clubs. Not to say that drinking and dancing do not have a place in society, but there are far too few places where one can simply sit, rest, and talk. A beautiful hookah lounge could be the perfect touch for downtown San Jose.
