I want to be an eco-friendly chemical engineer who will mediate between people and the environment. I want to be an eco-friendly chemical engineer where I produce materials and food. I want to research alternative ways of producing organic food and adequate materials or products for people. Not only do I want to make food and materials that is people-friendly, but I also want to ensure that the environment is not harmed by the chemical byproducts as a result of production. I also want to research different chemicals and resources to refine materials. I am worried that with the technology and advancements we have these days, the processed foods and resources we are using could have a negative effect on both the people and environment. Instead, there must be alternative and suitable means of obtaining an accommodating way of living and without harming the environment.

I am not only hoping to create better quality materials for industry, but also to find alternative ways of “recycling” resources for energy use. Because of the use of hazardous energy sources such as coal, fossil fuels, and nuclear energy, I also want to study alternative sources in order to decrease the emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. I particularly wanted to investigate biomass energy by “recycling” discarded waste as an energy resource.

With these goals in mind, two places I want to work include the Department of Energy and the Institute Food of Technologists.
