Lying in a hospital bed- blind, quadriplegic, and intubated- for four months changed my life. Seeing how there were other innocent kids lying in the beds next to me for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, made me want to make a change. I know I cannot go out and rescue every kid from an abusive parent or a drunken driver, but I can use my brain and talents to raise the funds to make sure that kids get a chance in life. It may be through education or a program relocating kids to a safer place, but I’ve learned that every effort can and will make a difference. I hope that my genuine care and compassion for others will change the field where Ponzi schemes are notorious. We all need to help each other out and if I could make a change in the world by simply being an honest and virtuous businesswoman, then I will feel accomplished. What I envision for myself in the future is a woman who is involved with her community. I want to help and listen to the survival stories of others who’ve overcome adversity, hardship and the death of those that mean the most to them. After I attain my MBA, I will start a foundation specifically targeting those kids in horrible situations that have the burning desire to learn coursing through their veins and want to make better lives for themselves.
