My career of choice has always been a nurse/medical assistant. I have always loved the idea of helping people and what better way to help them than to make them feel better health wise. Right after high school My mother was diagnosed with a brain disease that required numerous brain surgeries. Which meant that she would need some serious help after surgeries since she was a single mother to my two sisters and I. I had to hold off on going to college until i knew she would be able to take care of herself. I know at that point that helping people with medical issues and caring for people who are unable to care for themselves was going to be a passion of mine for the rest of my life. I am currently signed up to start school on September 8th of this year for Medical Assisting and I am beyond ecstastic. I just know that being able to assist doctors and nurses with diagnosing and treatment of numerous sicknesses and illness’s is going to make every single day of mine an accomplishment. We have a free clinic that is located In our town that is always short on staff and we have a large number of homeless/low income families around the area of the clinic. When I was growing up my dad was homeless and my mom has always been low income single mother so if I could even help with the care and treatment of one family and take the added stress of illness off there list of already devasting issues , I just know I would feel proud of myself and my accompliments. I am currently a single mother of three children myself and just went through a divorce, I know that my family and other single mothers of the world need to see and believe that they are capable of making a life and a difference for themselves, the world and most importanlty there children.
