If I could earn a living off of what I love doing most, it would be creating and performing music as a DJ. I have been a DJ for fifteen years and have seen first-hand how it can affect people and change attitudes in a second. When I first started, I saw how music affected me. But after years of listening and playing different styles in front of people, I learned that it is the upbeat, consistent music that calms people and draws out their inner soul. I have Dj’ed at house parties, I have Dj’ed at concerts and have Dj’ed at clubs and venues. Some of the shows have had only a dozen people in attendance or less, while others have had hundreds in attendance. I have stood in front of people with their eyes and ears wide open just waiting to be inspired and have someone connect some type of sound or rhythm to their soul. I can honestly say that I have found what they crave, whether it be in the middle of the day or in late hours of the night. They crave to not be judged for their movements and their willingness to become one with the sound they hear with others around them. Every age has enjoyed this feeling, and if they haven’t yet they are in for a surprise of their life. When transitioning between songs and seeing how the flow of the crowd changes, this is what brings inner peace to myself.
