If I had the opportunity to make a living doing something that I was passionate about, I would pour that opportunity into my love for crocheting. I currently own a small crochet business where I create a wide variety of crochet goods that are always available for sale. In my current financial position I simply can’t afford to donate my creations the way I would like to. When I drive around my city I see far too many individuals who don’t have some of the luxuries I have, even simple things like a warm place to sleep and clothes that will be appropriate for cold weather. Being able to earn a living through crochet would mean I would be able to create a much larger amount of hats, blankets and scarves for those who otherwise don’t have access to winter items.

Crochet has become the most wonderful stress relief I have ever found, and I would be thrilled to be able to use that passion to help those in need around me. I have had points in my life where I didn’t know where my next meal might come from, or where I would be sleeping that night. I know from experience the kindness of one stranger can completely change your day, even your mindset. The sheer number of people in need means my work would never be finished, leaving me with a lifetime to pursue my passion for crafting as well as helping those in need.
