I have always heard that if you love what you do then you will never work a day in your life. I am working toward a degree in Elementary Education. I would like to be a teacher to young children. Children are our future and I cannot think of a better way to change the world than to make a positive impact in the lives of children.
Teachers have one of the best advantages of influencing the world through their classrooms. On average a teacher encounters around twenty students per year over a span of about ten months. Ironically, a pregnancy last around ten months and it takes each of those precious days to form a little baby. A quality teacher devoting nearly ten months to a student can make an impression that will last a lifetime. Many teachers have careers that span a few decades and therefore make a huge impact with a significant number of children. I credit a handful of outstanding teachers that I have had over the years with my accomplishments. I desire to be the kind of teacher that instills value in a child.
I grew up modestly and had a younger sister that looked up to me. I claimed the role of leader and protector at a young age. I feel these traits will help me to be a great teacher. I will use my experiences to guide the light I see in students.
