I wonder, are we really down to Earth? I feel as though the terms “common sense” are all too often broad or misunderstood. With so much influence and marketing happening now-a-days, it seems that most people fall victim to media and unfiltered social networks. I currently major in Communcation Studies. Communication is defined as the interaction between two or more counterparts. When applied to actual real world practice, there is a social heightened awareness. Monitoring social cues and interactions both verbal and nonverbal. I find my purpose to be infused with teaching. I wish to become a professor of Communication. My teachings backed by theories and extensive research, I would like to influence my students on achieving not common sense but a keen level of social awareness. Being able to filter out media and controversial outlets is a priceless skill. The ability to decide strategically for oneself as to what is rational, valid, and absolute is key for living an enriching life. As this very moment, I’m an example of this thinking. I am 22 years old and social network free. Once an individual truly takes control of their life, the realization that the most precious life is separate from marketing and social media becomes apparent. Lets go back to the way life should be lived, limited interruption of the breath taking moments. Obtaining a Master’s degree will grant me the resource needed to proceed with this dream. Communication is the world. Lets bring ourselves back to Earth.
