Trains. One of the biggest modes of local, regional, and if not national transportation around the world. Countries in India, Europe, and Asia are the biggest users in train transportation. I want to be apart of this system. Trains are my passion and they continue to evolve to make access to distant locations easier and more efficient. Not to mention its carbon footprint is much lower than the average car. If the world was connected by an international train system, it would change everything. Imagine catching a train from the Florida Keys directly to Puerto Rico, from Puerto Rico to Brazil, then from Brazil to the beautiful beaches of Chile. This isn’t impossible, not to mention the cost of a train ticket is much lower than that of a plane ticket. Still, the question remains: How will we be able to accomplish such a feat? I believe we can, think of it like an oil rig, big massive structures which seem impossible to float in the open ocean. We can use that same idea for the international train system, because a train crossing water for a distance that’s impossible for a bridge to manage is the biggest challenge. If we can incorporate the oil rig flotation schematics to accommodate a train, I believe it’s possible. The train would have to be special too, and I was thinking of a Mag-Lev train with its own self-charge compartment. Being able to connect the world by using less money can change the world.
