Everyone’s first impression on my career goals are all the same. “A geneticist? So you’ll take blood all day and sit in a lab for hours? What a dull life you’ll have.” I’ve heard all negative feedbacks from those I inform of my passion; but they cease to see my point of view.
Geneticist study hereditary and organisms. But it has so much more meaning to it than just cells. We still have yet to discover the true depth of ourselves. Studying genes isn’t just DNA but it understands how you, I, and all of us live.
Genetics is still new considering it’s a 21st century discovery, and needs more acknowledgment for what it’s worth. As humans we need to advance our knowledge to grow as a society. Without this we can’t cure diseases. We can’t cure genetic disabilities. We can’t understand our own bodies.
But with this study, we will understand more in depth of one another. We can cure diseases; we can cure genetic disabilities, we CAN CONTROL any form of disease or disability with more research and engineering in genetics! This is a field that has such meaning for our own benefits.
With this, I will cure the disabled. I will help those in need. I will do my best to make a better society by studying what the human eyes can’t see. I am an innovator and I seek in solving our mysteries of the human body and what truly makes us living organisms.
