Ever since I was a child, I’ve always played video games and read books. One thing the two have in common, especially recently, is their ability to tell a tale or create intricate mysteries that will immerse the player, or reader, into the experience. I have a high amount of respect for both writers of video games and books alike, but the interaction that comes with video games gives them a more personal and concrete experience.
Therefore, I’d really love to be involved in the video game industry so I can contribute to the fact that games are becoming much more sophisticated with their ability to relay refined metaphors, moral dilemmas, and difficult choices much better than past video games. This is my dream job. I would complete my college education, gather the proper programming team and craft my own worlds. Ones that make commentary and bring attention to real world issues in adventures that the player takes part of.
I believe that video games are an art and I want to take part in its creation. I have so many ideas that I want to share with the world through interactive storytelling. Video games are important to my childhood, and I believe they can be even more so for future generations. It goes deeper than pressing buttons, because gamers are able to cooperate and share the journeys that they have gone on, journeys that inspire us to accomplish great things.
